The Dublin Senior Ladies Football team take on Cork in the 2009 TG4 All Ireland Senior Championship final in Croke Park on Sunday September 27^th. 

This is the first time that the Dublin Ladies have reached the All-Ireland final since 2004

and the game represents Dublin’s last chance of winning a Senior All-Ireland title this decade in any code. The Dublin team needs the support of everyone involved in Dublin GAA across all levels and from every corner of the county.  

A strong showing of support from the Dublin GAA community would play a big part in the team’s chances of success on the day.  We ask that you actively encourage all club members to turn out in Croke Park in the Dublin colours on the 27^th September to cheer on the Dublin Ladies.  

It is a superb achievement for the team to get to this stage and Dublin have already accounted for Kerry and Monaghan to date. Cork are going for their fifth consecutive All Ireland title but Dublin are one of the few teams to have consistently beaten the Cork over the past three years. A big Dublin support could make all the difference on the day.  

So, we strongly encourage you to rally the troops and come out and support the Dubs on the 27^th and get behind the team as they try to make history and bring All-Ireland glory to the capital.

So boys and girls its up to us to do our bit  and Spirit Of 16 DSC is starting off with a flag and banner display on Hill 16 similar to our display for the leinster Hurling final this year but this time we will be unveiling the biggest Dublin banner ever to fly on the Hill.

Volunteers needed Friday 25th September from 5-7pm enter Croke Park at security barrier at Hill 16 and you will be directed to the Hill .Bring along Rolls of tape ,long cable ties and any Dublin flags you have

It’s that time of year again and the Dublin lads are  down but not out lads, because there is always next year and next year is the story of our lives.

 

15 years Football and 1938 Hurling, but this is what we do. It’s who we are. We are Irish and furthermore we are from Dublin. Unlike other sports where people tend to lose hope and some may even change their allegances this doesn’t happen in Gaelic Games and not to Dublin fans like us. We are here till the end.

 

As we say in Ireland, “You don’t pick your team you are given it when you are born.

 

We say, bring on next year,  it’s the Walsh/ O’Byrne Cups not turkey and ham we look forward to.

 

But before all that we have one more day big day out for the Dubs for you!

 

This year is the 125^th Anniversary of the GAA .The biggest amateur association in the world and we as Dubs want to celebrate this big time in Dublin style.

 

Spirit Of 16 Dublin Supporters Club are busy planning a great night out with that in mind.

 

The party will be in the first week of November with the best of Dublin. Irish dancing, singing and a great ballad session.

 

Food on the night will be Dublin Spice burgers, bowls of hot Dublin Coddle, to keep you warm.

 

A monster  raffle will take place being a chance to raise funds for flag and banner displays similar to those we had for the Leinster Hurling Final in Croker this year.

 

It will be bigger and better next year with your help and a chance to raise some funds for a Dublin charity.

 

Dublin players past and present from our Hurling and Football teams will be there on the night and also we hope to have some special guests.

 

Tickets for the Session will be limited and will go like All Ireland tickets for a Dublin v “Who Cares” All Ireland final but you as site members will get the news first and of course have first  preference.  

More details to follow in the coming weeks and something to look forward to as the dark nights of November set in.
